The loyalty reward program for Hilton Hotels has been renamed and overhauled to make it easier to spend your points. But it’s not clear that the changes will get you more for you points.
Once called HHonors, the program now called Hilton Honors lets you pool your points with friends and family to book a room, combine your points with cash to pay for lodging and use Hilton points to buy stuff on Amazon.com. Also, travelers who reach “Diamond” status in the program can extend it for one year without paying extra.
The changes include lots of small print but experts on reward programs say the overall impact should be positive for travelers.
