HAIKOU, China, April 10, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — A report from the Hainan International Media Center (HIMC):
The 3rd China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE or Hainan Expo) kicked off on April 10 in Haikou, the capital of China’s southernmost province Hainan.
The 3rd edition of CICPE, which ends on April 15, welcomes 3,300 consumer boutique brands from 65 countries and regions around the world.
The guest of honor country, Italy, has brought 147 brands to this year’s Expo. The Italian Pavilion, which occupies an area of 1,800 m² (approximately double that of last year), exhibits products from Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Ducati, Panerai and other major Italian brands.
One of the key events of this year’s Expo, the grand product launch, will be held for two days on the 12th and 13th. 118 products and series from 28 well-known Chinese and international brands will debut, including L’Oréal, Kärcher, Carpigiani, Diageo, Platinum Guild International, Huawei, and Dell, spanning fashion, fragrance, jewelry, alcohol, high-end food, electronics, and biotech. Also included are lifestyle products, artistic toys, traditional handicrafts, and bronze sculptures from China’s Old Summer Palace (or “Yuanmingyuan” in Chinese), a first at CICPE.
According to the Expo organizing committee, 2,000 international buyers from 35 countries and regions, including France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand, are present at the Expo and seek the best deals.
CICPE, which this year celebrates its third edition, is the first international exhibition of premium consumer products on a national scale and the largest in Asia.
Held in Hainan for two consecutive years, the Expo not only provides a trade platform for premium consumer products from around the world, but is also an essential component of Hainan’s construction of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics.
In the past two years, many companies from participating countries have set up shops, factories and even headquarters in Hainan to take advantage of the political advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Statistics show that leading brands and companies from 52 countries, such as LVMH (France) and Richemont (Switzerland) have already established their presence in Hainan.
