Madrid, April 26, 2023.
Allianz Partners has announced today its financial results for the year 2022, which highlights an increase in its total income amounting to a total of 8,200 million euros with an improvement of 1.3 points in its combined ratio
The leading Insurance and Assistance company also highlights the management of more than 72 million assistance cases in 2022, including more than 11,000 medical repatriations thanks to its 22,000 employees worldwide and its network of 1.2 million providers. The entity’s solid results in 2022 were mainly due to the significant rebound in the travel assistance business, mainly due to the lifting of Covid19-related restrictions in the first half of the year. Likewise, the growth in revenues supported a new and significant investment in the digital platforms and in the health business of the entity. In general, all business areas showed growth compared to 2021:• The helpline in Travel registered the highest growth thanks to the growing interest in travel and the growing demand for protection, in addition to the lifting of restrictions and the opening of borders of most countries. Increased global demand drove strong results in all markets and regions among existing and new customers, including e-commerce, banking and airlines. Specifically, travel insurance grew by 80% compared to 2021, with revenues of 3,053 million euros in 2022.• For its part, the Mobility business also performed excellently, also registering a strong increase in the number of trips throughout 2022, which translates into a turnover of the Assistance and Mobility business of 2,610 million euros (5% vs. 2021).• The Health business grew by 26%, registering revenues of 2,384 million euros last year, driven primarily by the traditional International Private Health Insurance (IPMI) segment, with strong growth and retention in the expatriate business. Also, the increase in the travel business for international students and the association with Aetna Internacional represented an important source of income for the company in this business. • Allianz Partners’ direct channels reached 334 million euros in revenue, with 78 % annual growth. Marketing campaigns with a focus on post-Covid travel recovery were a key factor driving performance, achieving the highest growth in the United States, Australia, Germany and Brazil. Tomas Kunzmann, CEO of Allianz Partners, commented, “This record performance demonstrates the success and validation of our global approach as we continue on our journey to be the #1 insurance and assistance partner in the new digital world.
