Lüdenscheid, October 2023 (News Aktuell) – intec Gesellschaft für Informationstechnik mbH, one of the leading European providers of telecommunications measurement technology, celebrated its 35th anniversary last month. With the ARGUS® F300, you now present a pure fiber optic tester that combines numerous fiber testing options, such as OTDR and selective OPM, as well as PON-ID detection and performance testing.
The ARGUS® F300 can be used to perform reliable tests with the highest quality usual in ARGUS®, on GPON and XGS-PON interfaces. The OTDR measures link attenuation and event attenuation. From there, along with the propagation time of the reflected impulse, you can determine the link length, splices, and connectors present. The ARGUS® F300 OTDR is available with 1310 1650 nm or 1310 1550 nm wavelengths. The quintuple selective power meter can be connected to an existing PON connection in pass-through mode. This allows the simultaneous determination of optical levels at the different downstream (OLT) and upstream (ONT) wavelengths for GPON, XGS-PON and, where applicable, a video overlay through five independent filters. Unwanted interference on the line (the so-called alien or not permitted ONT) can be detected. With ARGUS® F300 you can also perform full ONT simulation with IP and performance testing up to 10 Gbit/s on GPON and XGS-PON.
In addition, the ARGUS® F300 has many other test functions. These include the WLAN analyzer, triple play tests such as VoIP, IPTV and Data in the form of upload/download, ping and traceroute, as well as iperf or high-performance IP speed tests, directly over fiber or Ethernet. Additionally, the fiber inspection tool can be connected via USB. This tool can detect scratches and defects in optical fibers and display them as video images and in table form.
