– CYENS Center of Excellence Launches Innovative DgiStreamer Tool for Imaging and Video

NICOSIA, Cyprus, Nov. 30, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — CYENS Center of Excellence, the research and innovation center focused on interactive media, intelligent systems and emerging technologies, has announced the launch of the beta version of its innovative image/video pipeline interface tool, DgiStreamer. DgiStreamer makes it easy to process complex images by automatically creating image pipelines and deploying them to any system (i.e. embedded, GPU, CPU), while supporting all the functionality offered by other SDKs. ) popular like GStreamer and Nvidia Deepstream.

Image processing and computer vision pipelines remain difficult to navigate, especially when working with specialized SDKs/APIs. As the complexity of the pipeline increases, the amount of hand coding required for deployment and testing becomes significant. In addition, the developer often faces compatibility issues with the SDK versions and capabilities of the pipeline nodes. Undertaking a pipeline build task using currently available tools is not optimal due to the time spent writing additional code and debugging.

The CYENS Center of Excellence DeepCamera team, led by Dr. Alessandro Artusi, has developed an innovative GUI tool that serves as a comprehensive stand-alone pipeline builder compatible with GStreamer and Deepstream. The tool offers an intuitive way to simplify pipeline construction tasks by using a simple drag and drop action to interconnect the various blocks of a pipeline. The tool allows scaling to complex configuration types and is faster and easier to use than solutions currently on the market.

DgiStreamer has been developed with practicality in mind. The DgiStreamer beta version pilots features that further simplify the building task. A novel debugging system makes the tool system agnostic, so the application runs on a wide range of Operating Systems while providing a playback video stream of the pipeline output, an efficient way to monitor , manage and/or debug deployed pipelines, both remotely and locally. The tool is also fully compatible with older SDK components and versions.

The complete solution is available to be licensed.
