– Delsey’s full year 2022 results show net sales growth of 124% year-over-year, a 6x increase in EBITDA compared to pre-pandemic levels
PARIS, March 16, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Delsey Paris, Europe’s leading manufacturer of premium luggage, today announced its 2022 operating results. Global net sales grew 124% year-over-year (‘YoY’) reaching 207 million euros, exceeding the levels prior to the 2019 pandemic and exceeding the recovery rate of the post-pandemic sector by almost 4 times. The EBITDA margin grew to 11.4% of net sales, 6 times pre-pandemic levels.

Delsey’s growth numbers have been especially impressive in the US, where the company’s net sales in US dollars nearly tripled year-on-year to $96.6 million, outpacing the industry which rebounded at a rate of 35%. 6% year over year over the same period. The company’s strategy of introducing new premium product lines and brand partnerships with well-known companies such as Roland-Garros, Air France and others, turning luggage into an extension of clothing style. This has helped Delsey increase the average unit sales price by more than half, while increasing the number of units sold by 54%.

Following the takeover by a group of investors led by Pemberton Asset Management, Delsey re-emerged as one of the world’s leading luggage brands. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, international travel arrivals in 2022 recovered to 63% of pre-pandemic levels (compared to 2019).
