Earthfirst® Films expands film options with certified home compostable print films, sealants and flow wraps
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Earthfirst® Films has added a line of TUV NF T51-800 certified home compostable films to its existing line of industrial compostable options. PHAs, in combination with other biopolymers, are designed for films with at least 85% new carbon content¹. Available in printed, sealant and flow wrap films, these new options expand EOL environments and offer greater accessibility to a broader consumer base.
Inherent in their chemistry, home compostable films are greenhouse gas (GHG) friendly to industry’s fossil fuel-based alternatives and naturally reduce the carbon footprint of packaging. The new films are designed to work in retail grocery stores, quick service restaurants, stadium foodservice and other consumer and industrial market segments.
“We are dedicated to bioplastic film innovation and passionate about promoting sustainability for a healthier planet,” said Guenther Winnerl, business director of Earthfirst® Films. “Our customers are transitioning to compostable films as part of their brand identity. Some are preparing for sustainability commitments and regulatory bills of 2025, and our film portfolio contributes to their goals,” Winnerl added.
Earthfirst® films are DIN CERTCO certified for industrial compostability and TUV Austria certified for home compostability. All Earthfirst films are FDA compliant for food contact.
