Tata Communications becomes Official Broadcast Distribution Provider of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship

The multi-year strategic relationship supports the new and innovative Formula E remote broadcast production system, which reduces the environmental impact associated with live television coverage of major international sporting events

MUMBAI, India and LONDON, Feb. 20, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Formula E and Tata Communications have announced a multi-year strategic relationship with the global communications technology company, which will become the official broadcast distribution provider of the Formula E Championship. Under the new agreement, Tata Communications will deliver live high-definition, high-resolution and high-speed content to viewers around the world as part of the new Formula E live race remote broadcast production, reducing environmental impact. typical of major international sporting events live on television.

Tata Communications’ technologically advanced, software-defined edge media platform will broadcast over 160 live video and audio feeds of Formula E racing across the continents in milliseconds, using 26 edge media locations across North America , Europe and Asia.

The new super-fast distribution of race broadcasts will be supported by Tata Communications’ specially trained experts, who will provide global end-to-end managed services 24 hours a day for all 16 races this season. Tata Communications made Formula E history when the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship held races in India for the first time. Viewers around the world follow the action live as 22 drivers from 11 teams including Mahindra Racing, Jaguar TCS Racing, Maserati MSG Racing and NEOM McLaren Formula E Team compete in the 2023 Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix.
