This date, promoted by Epson, seeks to raise awareness of the importance of limiting the increase in the planet’s temperature and reaching the goal of 1.5ºC with small actions and correct decisions on a day-to-day basis
Barcelona, March 16, 2023.- Heat-Free Day returns today, a date promoted by Epson to raise awareness of the importance of limiting the increase in the planet’s temperature and reaching the 1.5ºC target. Under the motto ‘Simple Actions for Big Positive Change’, the firm’s partners bring together their clients and communities to show how simple changes and appropriate technology adoptions can help achieve that goal. The adoption of new, more efficient technologies plays an essential role. in the objective of reaching a 39.5% improvement in energy efficiency by 2030, as indicated by the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC) of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.”Energy efficiency continues to be, in many sometimes, the great forgotten in decision-making both at the individual, business or administration level. It is important to take decisive steps in the choices we make. If there are two solutions for the same need that offer the same capabilities, but one it is much more efficient in energy consumption and emissions, why doubt it?”, says Pilar Codina, Corporate Sustainability Manager of Epson Ibérica .Actions for a positive change After its first edition, held in 2022, Heat-Free Day has established itself as a day to share knowledge and generate great positive change. This year, Epson continues to bet on awareness and dissemination activities throughout the Iberian geography that help raise awareness about the importance of adding small steps in the fight against the climate emergency. In these first months of the year, Epson has continued to bet on reforestation actions in Madrid and Lisbon, and the investment of 770 million euros in decarbonization and sustainable development actions worldwide continues to progress. Epson and its partners once again cite SMEs Spanish and Portuguese to share meetings focused on sustainable transition methodologies and ideas that reduce the heat generated by their activity, energy consumption and impacts on the planet. These sessions are taking place throughout the month of March throughout the Spanish and Portuguese territory. Sustainable digital transformation One of the keys to reducing global warming is the adoption of technologies that reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency by part of the companies. Technology has great potential to reduce the negative impact of human activity on the environment, and to be a lever for growth and efficiency. In this sense, one of the most important areas to achieve this is education. It is essential to offer the next generations all the necessary tools to build a more efficient future. To this end, Epson has promoted the EDU2030 project, which aims to accelerate the sustainable digital transformation of Spanish schools through specific training and different technological resources. In addition, the company also makes personalized audits available to centers to help them organize sustainable technology transition planning. Issuer: Epson
