– Hilco Global, the world’s leading diversified financial services holding company, appoints Neil Aaronson and Henry Foster as co-presidents

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Dec. 12, 2023/PRNewswire/ — Hilco Global, the diversified financial services, investment and asset management company, today announced the appointment of two Hilco operating company leaders to the role of co-presidents at the holding company.

New co-chairmen Neil Aaronson and Henry Foster are long-serving leaders within the global diversified financial services company, and have both helped to successfully build very large and growing Hilco business units, serving as Hilco CEOs Real Estate and Hilco Capital, respectively. In their new position as co-presidents, both will report directly to Jeffrey Hecktman, founder and CEO of the Hilco Global holding company.

In making the announcement, Hecktman explained: “This is an important step in assigning critical global management functions to a new generation of leadership who will help us continue to grow and expand our financial services platform in new and exciting ways.” Hecktman stressed that both Aaronson and Foster will continue to serve in their current roles as CEOs of Hilco Real Estate and Hilco Capital, while adding the responsibilities of co-presidents to their current roles. John Chen, who has been president and chief operating officer for the past 7 years, will continue his current responsibilities as chief operating officer and become vice president of the holding company. Hecktman said, “John will focus on managing our growing operational needs as we expand our holistic solutions-focused platform to more than 800 employees worldwide.”

The company indicated that Aaronson will focus on Hilco businesses that currently operate or will operate in the United States, Mexico and South America. And Foster will focus on Hilco businesses that operate or will operate in Europe, Canada and Australia.

The co-presidents will be responsible for driving the growth of the Hilco Global operating platform by acting as a strategic business partner to Hilco’s 20+ operating companies, pursuing and executing enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and driving collaborative business integration across platforms. Both will also be members of the company’s investment committee.

Neil Aaronson is a dynamic leader and experienced dealmaker, who has been involved in large-scale acquisitions, divestitures, investments and general transactions across a wide range of significant real estate and corporate properties. With extensive experience in all aspects of the retail, restaurant, industrial, hotel and office real estate sectors, he has been instrumental in the successful completion of more than $4 billion in transactions throughout his career. .

Neil joined Hilco Global in 2007 as executive vice president of the holding company. His responsibilities included structuring and supervising large operations. In 2008, Neil took on the role of CEO of Hilco Real Estate. Prior to joining Hilco, he served as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Cendant Corporation, a publicly traded company, where he oversaw mergers, acquisitions and investments in the company’s hospitality and timeshare businesses. He previously served as vice president of Cendant’s Strategic Development Group, leading acquisitions across the Cendant Companies platform. Previously, he worked as an associate investment banker at ING Barings, where he analyzed and negotiated acquisitions, divestitures and financings for several public and private companies.

Henry Foster has been our CEO of Hilco Capital, operating across Hilco Capital’s businesses in the UK, Europe, Australia and Canada. He joined Hilco in 2007 and held various positions with increasing responsibilities before being appointed to lead the company.

As CEO, Henry, along with the Hilco Capital team, has grown the company’s financial advisory and investment businesses in the UK and Canada, while expanding across Europe and, most recently, Australia. Additionally, the business has expanded into various sectors outside of retail, such as manufacturing and engineering. Most recently, Henry oversaw the development of Hilco Capital’s lending business, which to date has provided total facilities of approximately £300m over the last four years. Prior to joining Hilco, Henry worked as a chartered accountant at a leading professional services firm, advising lenders, corporations and other stakeholders in restructuring situations.
