SHANGHAI, June 8, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — In this digital age, where data is growing from the clouds at an incredible rate, more and more companies have been investing in the use of cloud-native technologies to drive the productivity and portability and to improve security, performance, predictability. Using container clusters to establish a cloud-native foundation has become an industry consensus.

On June 7, William Dong, President of Huawei Cloud Marketing, delivered a keynote address focusing on industry insights and value propositions and unveiled the innovative Financial Container Cloud solution at the Huawei Global Intelligent Financial Summit. Following the Everything as a Service strategy, Huawei Cloud aspires to become the cloud foundation and industry enabler for digital transformation. Banks will accelerate their pace toward digital transformation and smart finance from three fronts: resilient infrastructure, modernized financial applications, and AI-financial data convergence.

Hu Yuhai, Vice President of Huawei Cloud Stack, introduced the new solution in detail at the summit: “Underpinned by Huawei Cloud Stack, Financial Container Cloud is deployed in customers’ local data centers. It has four characteristics: high performance, high scalability and safety, high maintainability, and good openness and compatibility.”

extremely high performance

Financial Container Cloud incorporates Huawei Cloud’s latest cloud service, CCE Turbo, which offers stellar performance and a deep experience.

CCE Turbo provides vertical optimization and, most importantly, transforms the networks between containers and the IaaS platform, helping customers move from BUILD ON CLOUD to BUILD IN CLOUD. Using the pass-through network architecture, you can improve system latency by 20%. In addition, CCE Turbo supports a wide range of network functions, such as IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack, as well as Security Group and QoS.

Huawei’s self-developed container service helped Agricultural Bank of China easily cope with spikes at peak times, when up to 600,000 transactions per second occur.

Enhanced financial level capabilities, high scalability and security

In addition, financial companies demand flexibility and scalability for their IT systems.

Huawei Financial Container Cloud can be used to scale up to 100,000 pods in a single cluster, and can expand 10,000 pods per second. In addition, the cloud provides expansion between clusters and offers unified schedule management and a consistent experience. It also improves the security of the business, including the security of its hosts, clusters, and tenants.

For example, Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC) upgraded its business with Huawei’s container cloud, to quickly respond to increased traffic and shorten the application development cycle, and can also ensure high availability through the design of the active-active cluster solution.

High maintainability: Comprehensive analysis of application performance

Increasing cloud-native applications make IT systems increasingly complex, posing a challenge for application maintenance.

Huawei offers application performance management (APM) and application operation and maintenance (AOM) functions to help customers build a complete monitoring and analysis system.

APM provides global tracking and analysis of application call chains. It has no adverse impact on applications, and can help customers easily perform application governance and identify performance issues.

AOM comprehensively monitors applications and infrastructure in a unified dashboard and provides real-time analytics on applications, instances, hosts, and transactions.

Ongoing contribution to leading open source and cloud native technology

Huawei has been continuously incubating and donating projects to open source communities like KubeEdge, Kamada and Volcano.

Huawei became the only startup to be a CNCF member in Asia and the first platinum member in China. Now Huawei leads the way in cloud-native technologies, especially container cloud solutions. Huawei’s contribution to coding in the Kubernetes community ranks first in Asia.

In the financial sector, five of China’s top six state-owned banks have used Huawei’s container services, and more than half of joint-stock commercial banks are also our customers. So far, Huawei Cloud has deployed more than 50 million container instances, including more than 200,000 instances on the largest site.

Looking ahead, Huawei Cloud Stack will partner with financial customers to further embrace container technologies and dive together into the cloud for a digital future.
