BRANCHBURG, N.J., March 6, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Daily supplementation with Lycomato®, Lycored’s tomato-derived nutritional complex, delivers scientifically quantifiable, consumer-perceivable beauty results after just 4 weeks of use, according to a new clinical study.

The anti-inflammatory properties of carotenoids can support the skin from within, balancing the effects of aging. Sourced from tomato, Lycomato contains standardized levels of carotenoids, such as lycopene (15 mg), phytoene and phytofluene, which support the health and appearance of the skin.

In the clinical trial, 50 healthy women of varying ages (35 – 58), ethnicities (Asian, Black, Caucasian, and Latino), and skin types (Fitzpatrick II-V) took Lycomato soft gels containing 15mg of lycopene.

Their skin condition was assessed using three methods: visual facial marker grading by experts, instrumental measurement (including assessment of firmness, elasticity, and skin barrier by transepidermal water loss), and consumer perception using questionnaires.

Visual grading identified significant improvements in a number of parameters after four and twelve weeks of treatment. Among them, expression lines, wrinkles, the appearance of pores, luminosity, the uniformity of skin tone, the intensity of dark spots, smoothness and firmness. Instrumental measurement revealed a significant improvement in skin firmness after the fourth and twelfth weeks, and a significant improvement in the skin barrier after the twelfth week.

The self-assessment phase of the study also revealed significant results. After 12 weeks of supplementation, 86% of subjects stated that the use of Lycomato had improved the overall appearance of their skin. 88% said their skin’s elasticity had improved, 86% said their skin felt smoother, and 84% said they felt younger or healthier.
