National Comprehensive Cancer Network Expands Materials Tailored to the MENA Region to Help Improve Patient Outcomes by Standardizing Local Cancer Care; includes a new adaptation focused on genetic/familial cancer risk as well as care for ovarian/fallopian tube/primary peritoneal cancers
PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa., Aug. 16, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®), an alliance of leading cancer centers, announced today that a library of resources has been updated and expanded to improve cancer care in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in collaboration with regional experts. The US-based nonprofit has worked with King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, since 2015 to standardize cancer treatment based on the latest evidence and expert consensus, as part of the Regional Coordinating Center MENA-NCCN. His efforts have led to the publication of 12 new and updated guidelines covering various cancer presentations.

The guidelines offer color-coded information for health care providers on how to care for people with cancer. Black text represents current global recommendations, while italicized blue text indicates appropriate and feasible regional modifications, as determined by country experts. Approaches that are currently not feasible are marked with gray strikethrough text.
