The OCCO Sevilla nightclub kicks off its summer campaign with the endorsement of its environmental commitment: it has become the first leisure establishment in Spain to certify the use of renewable energy in its facilities. Specifically, it has obtained the ECO20 seal, a hallmark from the specialized consultancy ECOQuality that is verified by the international certifier OCA Global and which guarantees solar self-consumption, as well as the amount of CO2 avoided into the atmosphere. The ECO20 certification is the The only one at a European level that guarantees that the origin of the electricity consumption of a company or entity comes from solar energy in direct self-consumption, which allows the use of clean and non-polluting sources to be valued. Likewise, it endorses the commitment to sustainability, by accrediting the reduction of greenhouse gases that are harmful to the environment. OCCO Sevilla, located in the Seville East neighborhood of Seville and owned by the company Marqan Music, is an establishment of Leisure specialized in all kinds of parties and events both day and night. The venue has an interior space with dance floors, bars and VIP areas, as well as a 4,000-square-meter open-air ‘Pool Club’, which houses a seawater pool, a ‘chill-out’ area, cocktail bar and live music. Carbon footprint reduction OCCO Sevilla has been supplied with electricity for more than a year through a photovoltaic plant on roof with a power of 60.6 kWp. It uses clean energy during the day for the operation of offices and warehouses, as well as for cleaning the establishment. During the summer it also takes advantage of the energy from its solar plant for the operation and maintenance of the pool club. Thanks to this commitment to renewable sources, the discotheque will avoid the emission of 24.25 tons of CO2 per year -the equivalent of planting 145 trees-, thereby contributing to the fight against climate change and the protection of the environment. “For the group it is a satisfaction to be the first nightclub in Spain to obtain a certification of this type, which shows that from the leisure sector it is possible to contribute to reducing climate change.
