Taylor, together with his wife and business partner, Tania Rodger, has been at UIC Barcelona transmitting enthusiasm for what he does: “In this world, you have to be passionate, enthusiastic and tenacious”, he said; “It’s a matter of maintaining the love for what you do and the desire to share it with other people.”

For us, success is the stability that our team has found in the family we have created, in the confidence to create families, to have a stable and dynamic life”, Taylor pointed out in an interview at UIC Barcelona.

Rodger, for his part, has highlighted the importance of creativity: “Creativity for me is keeping your imagination and having your heart, and making sure that these two things are always connected in everything you see around you and in everything you see.” What do you feel,” he said.

Taylor and Rodger started their business in the small back room of their apartment in 1987. Today, Richard and Tania run a company of 340 people from their workshop in Wellington, New Zealand. Despite their success, they stress the importance of keeping “feet on the ground”: “In our house -explains Taylor-, more than two specific things (an airplane and a dragon from a couple of movies that I really like) are not there is nothing from all these worlds that we are working on. Because we want our children to grow up in normal life.”

Both creative entrepreneurs have shared their expertise during three days at the University. In addition to the central conference yesterday Wednesday, they have given workshops on creativity, entrepreneurship, and sculpture to students of Architecture, Communication, Business Administration, and Bioengineering, among others.

Taylor’s visit has been one of the central events in the program of events for the 25th anniversary of the University.
