The Erum Vial connected cone has passed the MITMA and DGT road tests, has carried out a pilot to signal works in urban areas, and now certifies the connection with the DGT 3.0 platform. to be marketed
The Erum Group, through its subsidiary PF Erum Vial, has successfully passed the last of the necessary tests to verify the correct connectivity of the danger signaling cone with the DGT 3.0 platform, a requirement that is essential to be able to begin marketing. of these security elements. Thus, the PF CONE, from Erum Vial, has been able to verify and validate its operation to communicate the exact location of road works, information provided by the platform that will allow users to be alerted about the location of road works through the panels in the road or the vehicle’s warning systems. Erum Vial’s connected cone, called PF CONE, has passed all pilot tests and verifications to position itself as one of the most reliable on the market. These verifications began a few months ago on the Reguerón Highway (Murcia), to check the geolocation of the cones and thus confirm correct reception at the management centers. The tests were carried out with the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA) and the General Directorate of Traffic, through the DGT 3.0 platform. The second of the tests, on this occasion requested to test its localization capacity in urban environments (which requires very precise geopositioning), was carried out in the streets of Alcoy, within the Sandbox program, with the collaboration of the City Council and the Police Local. The result was a great success, with a positioning precision of centimeters, which allows the connected cone to be used to signal and inform about works and street closures. With the last test passed, aimed at verifying the connectivity of the products with the platform DGT 3.0 for commercialization, the Erum Vial connected cone is now available for conservation and maintenance companies, town councils and other organizations that need to geolocate incidents on the road, or notify notices in their management centers. How does the cone work? Erum Vial connected to the DGT 3.0 platform? Once turned on, the cone transmits its position through NBioT to the DGT 3.0 platform, increasing the safety of workers on the road by alerting drivers of the section affected by the works. The information also allows knowing the location of the works in real time, which improves the management and control of road closure times. The connected cone PF CONE, one of the products highlighted at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), incorporates an emergency light, and provides location or speed data (for moving work), successfully testing other functions added to geolocation, such as measuring greenhouse gas emissions. The cones have long-lasting batteries, and are certified for resistance and waterproofing to ensure their use in extreme conditions.
