With abundant cultural and tourism resources, Datong fully exploited them to revitalize cultural tourism and devoted great efforts to the protection and restoration of ancient cities, the construction of scenic area facilities, the supply of cultural tourism products, and the integration of multiple commercial formats.

Under such practices, the average tourist satisfaction score for Datong continued to improve, rising by 0.6 points from 2022 to 4.56 points in the first five months of 2023.
