San Antonio theme parks and hotels have begun hiring for hundreds of positions ahead of the 2017 summer tourism season with a slate of job fairs.
The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa plans to hire almost 100 workers as front desk clerks, housekeepers, lifeguards, cooks and bakers among other positions, the hotel said in a news release.
Applicants will be able to speak with hiring managers during a job fair Saturday at the resort, according to the news release, but applicants are encouraged to apply online before the fair.
SeaWorld San Antonio aims to bring on more than 200 part-time and seasonal employees for the summer season, park spokeswoman Gayle MacIntyre said. The park will host its annual job fair Feb. 11 for positions at SeaWorld and the Aquatica water park including park operations, culinary operations and merchandising.
A job posting on the company’s website for a part-time lifeguard position lists a pay range of $8.30 an hour to $10.08 an hour. A part-time seasonal cook would make about $9 an hour, according to another listing.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas held a job fair this past weekend, but spokeswoman Sydne Purvis previously said the park plans to hire throughout the tourism season. Fiesta Texas is looking to fill about 500 positions.
