Valladolid, February 1, 2024.- The Vallisoletana Commerce Group (Avadeco) and the Vallsur shopping center have signed an agreement to consolidate urban commerce in Valladolid through different joint advisory actions and exchange of information on the situation of the sector and promotion.

The president of Avadeco, Rafael Monedero, and the manager of Vallsur, Pablo Pérez, today presented the details of the agreement and highlighted the strengths of the local commerce model, both economic and social, which are key to the development of the city. .

Both parties consider that the joining of forces will contribute to preserving the current commercial model, which represents one of the economic engines of the city, with nearly 3,000 operational establishments (2,947 according to data from the Junta de Castilla y León in 2022) and more of 20,000 employees, representing 13 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“The sector is immersed in a profound reconversion as a consequence of distribution changes, the rise of online commerce, and demographic and urban changes. Hence the need for alliances like this one, where we can add the experiences of two different but complementary commerce models that we have in common, the commitment to physical sales and personal treatment of the customer,” highlighted the president of Avadeco, Rafael Monedero, whose organization holds business representation for the negotiation of the collective agreement and is part of the regional and national confederations.

“Commerce is one of the economic drivers of cities. This agreement will allow us to share knowledge in order to improve competitiveness and the quality of the service with a single objective: to offer a better service to all Valladolid residents,” said the manager of Vallsur, Pablo Pérez.

Thanks to the agreement reached between the main trade sector organization of Valladolid, Avadeco, and the leading urban shopping center in the city, Vallsur, the associated and installed establishments will be able to access more complete technical assistance in aspects related to access to aid or subsidies, legal and labor advice, the development of joint marketing and promotion actions, among others.

For the Vallsur and Avadeco shopping center, the promotion of associations is essential to have a dynamic and competitive sector, as it is an effective formula to improve and develop commercial structures that represent an element of competitiveness for small and medium-sized businesses.

This agreement lays the foundations to generate a permanent collaboration framework that will be materialized in future actions based on the exchange of information.
