Increases the exhibition space, which will have more than 70 exhibitors and entry to the venue will be free
SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, Spain, October 19, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Fairway, V Forum of the Camino de Santiago will facilitate the celebration of more than 3,000 work meetings with tour operators of 16 nationalities within the Workshop section. The meetings will take place on November 2 and 3 at the Pazo de Congresos y Expósitos in Santiago de Compostela.
“Currently, there are already close to 100 companies that have shown interest in participating in these work meetings that contribute to expanding business. We have the last places left for sellers (supplier companies), which will be filled in these days, since This is an option highly demanded by the sector,” explains Manuel Oreiro, one of the co-directors of Fairway. The Workshop is one of the main attractions of the Camino de Santiago Forum, since it involves the meeting of leading national and international tour operators with companies linked to the different Xacobeas Routes. “At Fairway we provide a unique opportunity, a space where local companies can offer their services directly to decision makers,” he adds.
Precisely from Fairway the formalization of meetings between tour operators and companies that adjust to their service demands is managed. “These large tour operation companies look for suppliers that help differentiate their travel programs on the Camino de Santiago, always adjusting to their customer profile. A person who spends the night in hostels is not the same as someone who prefers to sleep in Paradores de Turismo” , concludes Oreiro.
Furthermore, and in order for them to learn about the experience of pilgrimages to Compostela and the services on the different Routes, Fairway also organizes famtrips for these tour operators, which also include professionals from different general and specialized media. “We always try to show other not so well-known itineraries, so the tour operators will travel, on this occasion, the Fisterra-Muxía Way, the Primitive Way and the Portuguese Way for four days. In this way, they will be able to discover first-hand the attractions of these Xacobean Routes,” says the co-director of Fairway.
More than 2,000 m2 of exhibition space
Another of the great attractions of Fairway is the area dedicated to the Fair. “We will have more than 2,000 square meters of exhibition space, in which more than 70 exhibitors will be installed,” explains Ana Trevisani, co-director of Fairway.
Virtually all the autonomous communities through which the different Caminos de Santiago pass pass are represented at the Fairway Fair. “In addition, we also have exhibitors from outside the country, such as different municipalities in northern Portugal, the Kumano Kodo Way in Japan, or even Malta, which this year joined the fair with a stand showing its Maltese Way. to Compostela, to give some examples,” adds the co-director of Fairway, who recalls that “entry to the fairgrounds is free and completely free.”
Job Fair
Ana Trevisani also highlighted another of the great novelties of this fifth edition of Fairway: the Employment Fair, which will take place on Wednesday, November 1. This new section, developed in collaboration with the Ronsel Foundation, aims to respond to the needs of the sector linked to the Camino de Santiago, given the complications in finding specialized personnel for their companies.
In this sense, the organization facilitates the presentation of offers by companies and also the delivery of resumes of job seekers. “People interested in applying for one of the positions in demand will only have to fill out a simple form through the website www.fairwaysantiago.com,” says the co-director of Fairway.
Training, debate and leisure activities
The Fairway program will be completed with the launch of various training, debate and leisure activities. “For this, the proposals of the Academy sections are offered (with training workshops and round tables focused on the latest trends in the field of digital marketing applied to the tourism sector and the circular economy); Congress (with discussion tables on topics that concern the sector), and the Open Day (with leisure proposals for the whole family, which will take place on November 1)”, explains Tono Mugico, co-director of Fairway.
All these proposals are free of charge, with prior registration through the form enabled on the Fairway website https://fairwaysantiago.com/inscripcion/…. “It should be taken into account that some of the activities have very limited places, Therefore, the reservation needs to be formalized in advance,” he concludes.
