Madrid, March 8, 2024.- FCC today celebrates International Women’s Day, which takes place every year on March 8, a date that has acquired global relevance and that has become a space for analysis and reflection for FCC. about the aspects that still need to be improved and the progress achieved by and in favor of women. The company, under the slogan “Women: vision and perspective in our sectors”, has held an event at the Corporate Headquarters of Las Tablas, in Madrid, in which the situation of women has been analyzed with special reference to the sectors in which the company operates. This conference was inaugurated by Esther Alcocer Koplowitz, president of the FCC Group, and during her speech she wanted to highlight that “we are a strong group and what makes us strong is not only our know-how and leadership in the sectors of activity in which we operate, but also our permanent commitment to values such as equality and social justice. Under the round table format, composed of representatives of the employers’ associations of each of the sectors of activity carried out by the company, Antonio Rodríguez Gómez, director of the Center delegation and president of the Association of Green Infrastructure Management Companies (ASEJA); from the water sector, María Ángeles Polo Ávalos, head of the Talent and Diversity department at Aqualia and president of the Training Working Group of the Spanish Association of Urban Water Services Management Companies (AGA); representing the construction sector, represented by Pedro Fernández Alén, president of the Construction Labor Foundation (FLC) and the National Construction Confederation; from the cement sector, Aniceto Zaragoza Ramírez, general director of the Group of Cement Manufacturers of Spain, Oficemen and finally, from the Real Estate sector, Ana Hernández Gómez, business director of the Real Estate area of the FCC Group and member of the Governing Board of the Association of Real Estate Developers of Madrid (ASPRIMA) and president of the Training Commission of said association. The day closed with a video in which workers from the different business areas and their families participated, in which they shared their professional experiences. “Our constant commitment to equality” FCC has an equality and diversity policy through which it reaffirms its commitment to the fundamental principles of equality, non-discrimination in the work environment, support for diversity in the company and respect for the heterogeneity of people. In this work, in which the company has been working for years, it has already borne important fruits and values, thanks to which a fair, serious and deeply diverse work atmosphere is being consolidated. Furthermore, it should be noted that FCC’s business areas have with a total of fourteen Equality Plans that serve as a vehicle for promoting actions and measures in relation to gender equality.
