The Comprehensive Hospital Dentistry Special Patients Unit facilitates access for people with disabilities to quality dentistry
Madrid, January 24, 2024.- Its dental clinics, located in different parts of Spain, pave the way towards more committed and inclusive work to reach all sectors of society.
The Comprehensive Hospital Dentistry clinics, located within a hospital framework and distributed in Madrid and Valladolid, present for another year the work they carry out in their Special Patients Unit. With cutting-edge technology and experienced professionals, they offer an innovative approach that aims to redefine the standard of dental care by offering an inclusive and specialized space in the care of elderly and functionally diverse patients.
Thus, they reaffirm the commitment of Comprehensive Hospital Dentistry to social responsibility and comprehensive care.
With seven clinics already consolidated nationwide, they have become a reference framework in the Dentistry sector. The Special Patients Unit opened its doors for the first time in 2010, in the Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery service of the Beata María Ana Hospital (Madrid), providing care to patients admitted to the brain injury unit of the hospital itself.
Currently, there are more than a thousand patients who receive comprehensive care through this unit. This service is being developed in different dental services in Spain:
• The Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery Service of the Hospital de la Beata María Ana, in Madrid.
• The Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service of the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Sanatorio Hospital, in Valladolid.
• The Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service of the Viamed Santa Elena Hospital, in Madrid.
• The Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery Service of the Viamed Fuensanta Hospital, in Madrid.
Located within the best hospitals, the Comprehensive Hospital Dentistry clinics offer an environment conducive to access to barrier-free, quality dental care that guarantees peace of mind for patients and their families.
This, in turn, encourages treatments to be carried out in specialized and modern facilities. They thus have adapted operating rooms, a minimal radiation radiology service and a team of highly qualified anesthetists, which facilitates the application of advanced techniques adapted to the needs of each patient.
Due to the care and needs of the patients in this unit, the clinics make available a highly specialized team of dental professionals, specifically trained to address the complexities associated with patients with functional diversity. With this work in mind, they ensure the recovery of the chewing, aesthetic and functional function of the mouth in a safe and coordinated environment.
But they also go further: they address the needs of medically compromised patients and those who experience phobias towards dental treatments. The team’s experience guarantees an inclusive and specialized approach, ensuring that each patient receives the appropriate care for their individual condition.
The Special Patients Unit represents a significant milestone in the pursuit of equity in dental care, with a particular focus on the needs of people with disabilities. Comprehensive Hospital Dentistry clinics seek to close the gaps in dental care, offering comprehensive and quality services to those with special needs, thus contributing to a more inclusive society.
