The “Andalusia: History and Civilization” Initiative Committee will hold the long-awaited ‘Andalusian Verse Night’, titled ‘Ya Zaman Al Wasl bil Andalusi’, on November 12, 2023 at the Emirates Palace Auditorium, Abu Dhabi. This captivating musical orchestra will feature a large band composed of 65 vocalists and musicians who will perform a selection of the most renowned Andalusian verses, directed by Maestro Ghada Harb. The orchestra’s title, ‘Ya Zaman Al Wasl bil Andalusi’, embodies the fundamental ideals of unity, tolerance, coexistence and cultural fusion, resonating with the themes prominent in the era of Arab civilization in Andalusia. This musical event is part of the artistic and musical program organized within the framework of the ‘Andalusia: History and Civilization’ initiative, which seeks to celebrate the rich Andalusian cultural legacy. The initiative aims to highlight the Arab civilization in Andalusia and its values ​​of tolerance, coexistence, and celebrate the legacy of an ancient civilization that made significant contributions to the advancement of science, culture, literature and the arts. Master Ghada Harb has said: “I am excited to lead the marching band and the choir of exceptional singers who will participate in ‘Ya Zaman Al Wasl bil Andalusi’, organized under the ‘Andalusia: History and Civilization’ initiative in Abu Dhabi. These verses are works of high artistic and literary value and have a special place in the hearts of the audience who value authentic Arabic music.” The ‘Andalusia: History and Civilization’ initiative seeks to introduce the public to the rich and diverse history of Andalusian civilization, while strengthening ties between the United Arab Emirates and Spain.
