The National Association of Translation and Interpreting Companies (ANETI) celebrates the IV National Translation Congress, an event aimed at companies and professionals in the translation and interpreting sector. The congress will take place on May 17 and 18 at the Casa Árabe in Madrid. The objective of this edition of the translation congress organized by ANETI is to become a space for debate and reflection on the current state of the profession and its projection of the future, seeking to improve the competitiveness of companies in the sector and foster business relations between them. This event is mainly aimed at translation companies, managers, translators, project managers, university professors, researchers and suppliers in the sector. The official inauguration will be in charge of Alicia Varela, General Director of International Trade and Investment of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, who will present the paper “The internationalization of the Spanish economy in the current global scenario”. This presentation will serve as an introductory framework for the congress, highlighting the relevance of the translation and interpreting sector in the globalized economy of the 21st century. The ANETI 2023 Congress program will address various topics of interest to professionals in the translation and interpreting sector , structured into three thematic blocks. The first block will focus on the future of the sector and the main trends, and will discuss the role of translation companies and professionals in a constantly evolving world. In addition, the impact of artificial intelligence on the market will be analyzed and how companies can position themselves in the face of this reality. The second block will address technology applied to productivity and innovations in language services. Technological advances in interpreting will be explored, as well as the impact of the digital age on translation technologies and their evolution. In addition, project management will be discussed, placing special emphasis on the integration of machine translation tools in the workflow and the selection of the most appropriate ones. Finally, the importance of the project manager in the operation of translation companies will be highlighted and the translation of anonymized texts will be analyzed, a new trend promoted by the GDPR regulations. The third and last block will focus on aspects related to the business management, especially with regard to work-life balance, teleworking and the situation of false self-employed in the translation sector. The implementation of the four-day working day will also be discussed and how this measure can affect companies and professionals in the sector. The IV Translation Congress organized by ANETI will culminate with a round table in which the conclusions of each block will be presented and debate will be encouraged among attendees. In this round table moderated by Arancha Caballero, president of ANETI, representatives of different associations of the sector will be present, such as ASPROSET, AICE and LANGUNE, who will share their perspectives and experiences to enrich the discussion and exchange of ideas.
