RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Feb. 16, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — The Kingdom of Bahrain has been officially appointed to serve as the Chairman of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), the global, multilateral organization dedicated to accelerating the inclusive growth of the digital economy to create digital prosperity for all.
His Excellency Mohamed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transport and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Bahrain, will be the new Chairman of the DCO Council.
As the representative of the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications (MTT), Bahrain will oversee the strategic direction of the DCO for the coming year and support the ongoing implementation of the key initiatives launched by the DCO.
His Excellency Mohamed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, commented on Bahrain’s rise to the Presidency: “It is an honor for the Kingdom of Bahrain to have been elected to the prestigious position of the DCO Presidency. Bahrain’s ascension to the DCO Presidency was ratified during the second General Assembly of the DCO, which took place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). As holder of the Presidency, Bahrain will host the next General Assembly.
