Solhabitat leads the expansion of the sector in the area where hotels have become extinct and tourist accommodation is thriving with a highly professional service
Hotels are extinguished on the Costa Blanca and tourist rentals are already a benchmark in the accommodation offer in the area. Owners on the Costa Blanca have known how to become professional and adapt to user demand, especially thanks to the help of associations and real estate agents and property managers, who have improved their service and have incorporated technological solutions to facilitate stays. The vacation rental sector on the Costa Blanca has already recovered the figures prior to the pandemic in terms of available accommodation, but the good news for owners does not stop there: occupancy skyrockets, exceeding the figures for 2019. “Demand of the sector is growing because work has been done well” Miguel Ángel Sotillos is the president of the Aptur tourist homeowners association, and analyzes the recovery of the sector. “The number of tourist homes has recovered, it has risen by 20% because many were lost in the pandemic. Now having a few more places, the occupation could have been reduced but this year the occupation has risen”, highlights the representative. With the improvement in the service, thanks to the associations and property managers on the Costa Blanca, they have managed to consolidate the vacation rental in the tourism sector. “Demand in the sector has been growing for a long time because it has worked very well both during the pandemic and after, users have tried it, they liked it and they continue to use it after the pandemic”, adds the also president of the national federation, FEVITUR. In Alicante, the number of vacation rental places already exceeds that of hotels, but in areas such as the Costa Blanca “there are no hotels anymore, there are high-level tourist accommodation, with chalets and villas like in Moraira, which are the alternative”, underlines the representative. A return of 16,000 euros per year on holiday rentals on the Costa Blanca The latest INE data on the Costa Blanca support this recovery. In the first months of this year 2023, occupancy has skyrocketed, 30% more reservations have been made than during the same period of 2019. Specifically, vacation rental occupancy in Moraira, Jávea and Dénia is more than double that of in pre-pandemic. That the traveler demands these accommodations on the Costa Blanca is more than evident. But it is also an area where owners can get a lot of profit from their homes: on the Costa Blanca, 16,000 euros per year. According to Transparent, the leading company in measuring tourist accommodation data, only in Moraira the annual earnings of owning a property in the sector could exceed 16,300 euros per year. On the Costa Blanca there are more than 12,300 properties, 7,200 of them are in Moraira. Solhabitat: an example of the advances in the management of vacation rentals on the Costa Blanca Solhabitat has been dealing with the management of houses and Villas in Moraira, apartments in Jávea or villas in Benissa, among other areas of the Costa Blanca, for more than 10 years. In all this time it has been able to adapt to changes by incorporating an advanced accommodation management system that is connected to more than 30 online reservation portals. In addition, at Solhabitat they carry out advisory work with the owners so that they can increase the occupancy rate. From Solhabitat they ensure that transparency is key, and along with this, cooperation with other professional companies that can expand the service. “We work so that the owners have the maximum benefit and are calm.” This is how managers such as Solhabitat have managed to boost the vacation rental sector and its recovery.
