Stefan Schneiders is a new member of SPD Bundestag group in Unterschleißheimer City Council. The 58-year-old, who was sworn in on Thursday evening, has been vice-president of SV Lohhof for years, as well as initiator and long-time organizer of Lohhofer Easter run. After decades at Siemens, he now works as a business unit manager at Munich Institute of Radio Technology. He ran for party-free on list of SPD and for long-term late SPD alderman Georg “Jacky” Schaller after weekend.

Schaller had given up his mandate for serious illness and at meeting on Thursday shortly before his death a last appearance in city council. He was approved by his colleagues with standing ovations. Mayor Christoph Böck (SPD) acknowledged Schaller, who was a member of municipal council and later of city Council for 34 years, as “true rock” and attested to him an “almost unique work”. For him he was “always great role model”, known Böck and emphasized: “Without you I would not sit here”. Speakers of all groups acknowledged and adopted Sounders in emotional terms. For largest group, CSU, Friedrich Kiener called him “a local politician, as he wishes.” In his last speech, Schaller reported “very interesting, instructive and moving years with ups and downs”. In panel, he has “almost always seen fair and factual cooperation”.
