CaixaBank has carried out around 11,700 fixed-rate mortgage novations and 12,300 refinancings for individuals or other payment agreements since the rise in interest rates by the European Central Bank (ECB) began.
Furthermore, according to data made public by the entity, the entity has received around 6,400 applications that fit with the Code of Good Mortgage Practices, promoted by the Government in collaboration with the financial sector to help families with difficulties in coping with their loans.
Likewise, it points out that almost 80% of the production of mortgages granted since 2015 has been formalized at a fixed rate, a product that the bank promotes with the goal of “giving security” to clients.
During 2023, CaixaBank has granted close to 280,000 financing operations to companies and 80,000 mortgages to families.
The entity also has more than 10,000 social homes and has around 360,000 clients with social or basic accounts, and is present in around 2,000 municipalities and in 483 it is the only banking entity with an office. In addition, it covers another 783 towns with office vehicles.
