Officials on Thursday identified a Clairton man who was struck and killed by a vehicle when he tried to flee the scene of a Parkway East crash late Tuesday.
Troopers responded shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to a reported two-vehicle crash on the Parkway East, state police said. En route, they received a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.
Ronald Parrote, 20, was attempting flee the initial crash when he crossed in front of a Chevrolet Silverado heading west, according to police. He was transported to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, where he was pronounced dead two hours later.
The woman driving the Silverado will not be charged, police said.
