The turnover of companies fell by 2.5% last May compared to the same month in 2022, thus adding two months of declines, after breaking in April with 25 consecutive months of year-on-year increases, according to the Business Turnover Index (ICNE) published this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, company turnover fell by 2.7% year-on-year last May, a rate 2 tenths lower than that of April.
In monthly values and within the corrected series, business invoicing increased by 0.3% in May and breaks with two consecutive months of declines after that registered in March and April (-0.2% and -2.5%, respectively).
