MADRID, 14 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Digi invoiced 465.7 million euros in Spain until September, which represents 30.6% more compared to the 356.7 million euros it received in the same period of the previous year, according to the results presented this Tuesday by the company.

In the third quarter alone, the Romanian firm had a turnover of 166 million euros, that is, 29.9% more than the 127.8 million euros it earned between July and September 2022.

The company has attributed the increase in billing in the third quarter to the increase in mobile, data and fixed internet services in the period due to its “attractive offers.”

Meanwhile, Digi’s adjusted gross operating profit (Ebitda) stood at 92.27 million euros, which represents almost doubling (82.02%) the 50.69 million euros of the same period of the previous year.

Between July and September, the adjusted Ebitda was 36.25 million euros, that is, 92.5% more than the 18.83 million euros obtained at the end of the third quarter of 2022.

At the end of the third quarter, the price paid per customer per month (ARPU) decreased by 2.1%, to 9.3 euros.

Different sources from the sector consulted by Europa Press point out that Digi has the potential to become the fourth major operator in the Spanish telecommunications market as it is the main candidate to take over the ‘remedies’ that the European Commission may impose on the merger between Orange and MásMóvil.

In the event that the company is the beneficiary of the assets that Orange and MásMóvil would have to divest within the framework of the merger, Digi would be in a position to invest around 2,000 million euros in a 7-year plan with which the ‘ Teleco’ predicts that it could generate around 1,500 jobs in Spain.

In an interview with Europa Press last September, the CEO of Digi in Spain, Marius Varzaru, pointed out that the company plans to close the year with a turnover of around 600 million euros (compared to 501 million in 2022), which It would mean a year-on-year increase of 20%.

On the other hand, the company’s forecasts aim to end the year with an Ebitda of 100 million euros in Spain, 25% more than the 80 million euros of the previous year.

Regarding Digi’s global results, the company had a turnover of 1,238 million euros in all the markets in which it operates (the main ones are Romania and Spain) until September, 13.24% more than the 1,093 million euros of the same period of the previous year.
