The conductor of CF Montreal’s attack this season, Djordje Mihailovic, is troubled by an ankle injury and will not be able to make his international debut with the United States as planned.
The Impact confirmed on Twitter on Monday that his absence would be short-lived.
Mihailovic was forced to request a replacement in the opening moments of his team’s final game on Saturday against FC Cincinnati.
For the first time in his career, the 23-year-old attacking midfielder had received the call from Uncle Sam to attend the national team camp. The United States are due to play exhibition games against Morocco and Uruguay next week, then face off against Grenada and El Salvador in the CONCACAF Nations League.
In 14 games this season, Mihailovic has scored seven goals and four assists.
