DP Eurasia, the largest Domino’s Pizza franchisee in Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, has reported that DPRussia has begun the procedures for its declaration of bankruptcy, which will put an end to the company’s presence in the country.
“With the increasingly challenging environment, DPRussia is forced to take this step, which will result in the termination of the process of attempting to sell DPRussia as a going concern and, inevitably, the Group’s presence in Russia,” DP announced. Eurasian.
In this sense, the company has indicated that it is too soon to have an exact estimate of the financial impact of a possible insolvency of DPRussia on its consolidated financial position and on the results of the company.
However, it has announced that the external debt of the Russian segment, which amounted to around 520 million rubles (5 million euros) and was guaranteed, among others, by the group’s Turkish subsidiary, has been completely and definitively settled by the subsidiary with existing cash resources.
In December 2022, DP Eurasia, which has 809 stores in the markets in which it operates, including 188 in Russia, had acknowledged that it was studying various alternatives, including the sale of its Russian operations.
