STAFFORD TWP — A driver was found unconscious with serious injuries after his vehicle crashed into a utility pole Monday morning, police said.
The 20-year-old, of Manahawkin, lost control of his black sedan on Route 72 as he approached Lighthouse Drive and hit the pole.
Police said they arrived to find him unconscious with serious injuries.
The driver regained consciousness as medical personnel arrived and he was airlifted to hospital. His current condition is not known.
Police said the driver was later issued a summons for careless driving.
