Prosegur registered a net profit of 15.7 million euros in the first quarter of the year, which represents an increase of 10.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, as reported by the group to the National Market Commission on Thursday of Securities (CNMV).
The company’s consolidated net profit stood at 12.7 million euros up to March, representing an increase of 19.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, while its gross operating result (Ebitda) was 117 .4 million euros, 14.5% more.
Prosegur increased its sales by 13.1% between January and March, up to 1,070.9 million euros. The company has explained that the growth in its sales was supported by a 22.7% increase in Ebita profitability, which reflects “the solid progression of the company in all its geographies and businesses”, it has highlighted.
In terms of geographic activity, the Latin American region represented 49% of Prosegur’s income, with a turnover of 527 million euros, 12.6% more than in the same quarter last year.
In Europe, revenue increased by 13.2%, to 417 million euros, representing 39% of the group total. In the rest of the geographies, revenue reached 127 million euros, 14.8% more than in the same period of the previous year.
At the end of March, Prosegur’s net financial debt reached 1,202 million euros, with an average cost of 2.5%, while the level of indebtedness remained stable, with a net financial debt to Ebitda ratio of 2, 3 times.
