MADRID, 3 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Endesa, Iberdrola and EDP remain dominant operators in the electricity sector for another year, while Repsol falls from the list of dominant operators in the natural gas sector, according to the resolution of the National Markets and Competition Commission ( CNMC) by which the list is established in accordance with the data relating to the year 2022.

According to the resolution published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), these three electricity companies are considered dominant operators in total activity, in electricity supply and in generation, where they are also joined by Naturgy.

In the case of the natural gas sector, the status of dominant operators goes to Naturgy and Endesa, with the Repsol group missing from the list compared to last year.

Regarding the fuel sector, the considered dominant operators continue to be Repsol and Cepsa; which also maintain that condition in the liquefied petroleum gas sector.

A company or business group that has a market share greater than 10% is considered a dominant operator. Dominant operators will have to comply with the obligations derived from said condition, included in the corresponding regulations, such as their participation in market mechanisms for the allocation of manageable and non-emitting inframarginal energy, in terms of representation of production facilities in the market. electricity and in relation to the liquidity of the gas market.

Considering that the limiting measures for the electricity sector are generally adopted by type of activity, for this sector the dominant operators are established in a differentiated manner by activity.
