Enel and Endesa have achieved the best score in their history in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) after the annual evaluation of sustainability practices carried out by the agency S
Specifically, Enel achieved a score of 90 out of 100 for the first time, almost three times the industry average and the second highest, while its Spanish subsidiary, Endesa, has also achieved its historical score record with 89 points, three points more than last year.
In addition, Enel is one of the eight global electricity companies listed in the DJSI World, together with Endesa. Thus, Enel has obtained the second best score and continues to lead the DJSI family of indices, with four companies among the ten best evaluated, adding Enel Chile, sixth with 88 points, and Enel Américas, ninth with 87 points.
Endesa leads the presence of 15 Spanish companies in the DJSI World index and is also the fourth utility with the best score after Terna (91), its parent company Enel (90) and EDP (90).
Endesa’s evolution in this world benchmark in sustainability is very positive, going from 83 in 2015 to 89 in 2022. It has improved in the three dimensions evaluated: economic dimension (89 points), environmental dimension (87 points) and social dimension (93 points) and has obtained a score higher than 90 in 17 of the 27 criteria evaluated. Of them, in 11 it has obtained the maximum score (100 points).
For the CEO and General Director of the Enel Group, Francesco Starace, this recognition represents an incentive to continue increasing its environmental, social and good governance performance, especially in the “current, challenging, competitive and constantly changing” scenario.
