Adoptive Montrealer Erik Bazinyan and his Mexican opponent Marcelo Esteban Coceres respected the weight limit at the weigh-in held Wednesday in anticipation of the Eye of the Tiger (EOTTM) gala which will take place Thursday at the Cabaret du Casino de Montreal.

Looking for a 13th K.-O. in 14 outings, Bazinyan (27-0-0, 21 KOs), who will defend his NABF super middleweight title, has weighed in at 167.2 lbs, compared to 167.6 lbs for Coceres (30 -3-1, 16 KOs). The two men will do battle in a duel of up to 10 rounds with the vacant NABA belt also on the table.
For their part, Quebecer Steven Butler and New Brunswicker Brandon Brewer also passed their weigh-ins. Having snapped a two-game losing streak last March, Butler (29-3-1, 25 KOs) swung the scale needle to 159.2 lbs, while Brewer (25-2- 1, 11 KOs) posted a weight of 160 lbs. The NABF middleweight belt will be on the line in their fight.
Also in action on Thursday, Junior Ulysse (20-2-0, 11 KOs) also respected the limit, set here at 140 lbs. He weighed 139 lbs, compared to 137.4 lbs for his Argentine opponent Reuquen Facundo Arce (14-6-2, 7 KOs). As for 154 lbs, Montrealer Artem Oganesyan (13-0-0, 11 KOs) posted a weight of 152.8 lbs, against 153.2 lbs for Mexican Dante Jardon (34-8-0 , 25 KOs). On the women’s side, Canadian Mary Spencer (5-0-0, 3 KOs) and Uruguay rival Chris Namus (25-7-0, 8 KOs) also made it through the process compulsory before the gala.
