RUSKIN — A firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling a residential fire in Ruskin early Wednesday morning, according to the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

Crews responding to the fire at 6th Avenue SE in Ruskin around 2:39 a.m. saw flames coming through the roof of the duplex when they arrived, officials said.

The firefighter was transported from the scene with minor injuries due to heat exhaustion, officials said. Nobody was inside the home, and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
