The situation even caused damage in certain municipalities such as Saint-Ambroise.

“Range 6 has been completely cut in one place. We managed to seal the breach and change the section that was defective. There is still work to be done. We expect an increase in levels, but the situation is completely under control, ”explains Lucien Gravel, mayor of Saint-Ambroise.

The water level at Lac Sébastien is high, but the situation seems to be stable at Saint-David de Fallardeau

Parc national des Monts-Valin is also closed due to the high level of the Valin River.

Favorable weather

The good weather forecast for the next few days should help to resolve the situation near waterways.

Moreover, the Quebec Ministry of Transport should clean the roads by the end of next week.

“We can say that we are lucky in terms of the weather because it has calmed down, we have less precipitation”, mentions Andrée-Anne Duchesne in communications for the Ministry of Transport.

Gatineau in surveillance mode

Water levels have risen slightly since late Friday.

However, the City mentions that there is nothing to worry about this increase which should also continue during the day on Sunday.

According to experts, the level of the Gatineau River should decrease at the beginning of the week, but residents are invited to keep their sandbag dike.
