General Electric Co. is closing its Albany corporate tax office at Corporate Woods and laying off 75 people there as part of a deal to outsource its tax operations.

GE and PwC, formerly known as PricewaterhouseCoopers, announced three weeks ago that its force of 600 tax experts would join PwC in a cost-cutting move for GE.

The two companies have a five-year agreement in place that begins in April to provide GE with tax services.
