MADRID, 17 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Grenergy has signed its first overnight long-term sales contract (PPA) to supply ‘green’ energy to the Chilean company EMOAC for a period of 15 years, the company reported.

With this project, the renewables group becomes one of the first companies in the world to sign a PPA that combines solar energy and storage projects.

According to the agreement, Grenergy will provide more than 8 terawatt hours (TWh) to EMOAC, a company associated with the commercialization of renewable energies and a subsidiary of Copec, the main fuel distribution company in Chile. The start of supply is planned to occur between 2026 and 2027.

This operation is part of the company’s growth plans, closely linked to energy storage, and which it will present at its first Capital Markets Day on November 21.

Grenergy landed in Chile in 2012, from where it centralizes all its operations in South America. After more than a decade in the country, it has become the company with the most connected plants, more than 70, and with projects totaling more than 1.3 gigawatts (GW), including under construction and built.

The CEO of Grenergy, David Ruiz de AndrĂ©s, highlighted that the company has been characterized since its origins as a pioneering company and with this agreement “it once again reaches a historic milestone within the renewable industry.” .
