MADRID, 8 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Grifols has appointed its current executive chairman, Thomas Glanzmann, as its new CEO “with immediate effect”, and has assigned Víctor Grifols Deu as Director of Operations and Ramón Grifols as Corporate General Director.
As reported by the company on Monday, through these appointments, Víctor and Raimon Grifols assume positions in the top management of a more specific nature to respond to the real needs of the company.
Thus, from his position as Director of Operations, Víctor Grifols will focus on the daily management of the company. All operational functions will report to him, while he will remain a member of the board of directors.
Raimon Grifols, current vice president of the company, in addition to his duties on the board of directors, will focus “on optimizing the value of Grifols’ subsidiaries and corporate associations, as well as leading the main corporate initiatives”, from his new position of corporate CEO.
These changes, the company explains, seek to accelerate the execution of its strategic plan and are part of the restructuring context initiated by Grifols with the creation of the business units.
In February 2023 Grifols announced an operational improvement plan promoting measures to increase its competitiveness, reduce its cost base and improve its organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Subsequently, the company established the figure of the executive president to centralize the most strategic decision-making. Two months ago it created the SELT (Senior Executive Leadership Team) and now it is undertaking functional changes in its management leadership.
“I am confident that these changes will position us for our next stage of growth and help us achieve results and accelerate our performance to meet our commitments to all of our stakeholders,” said Glanzmann, Grifols Chairman and CEO.
Glanzmann will be responsible for Grifols’ business decisions, while creating and implementing the company’s short- and long-term strategies with the management team.
