The highest administrative court in Turkey has opened on Friday the way to the transformation of the former basilica of hagia Sophia into a mosque, by revoking its current status as a museum, reported the media.

The Board of Turkish State had acceded to the request of several associations in overturning a government decision dating back to 1934, giving the hagia Sophia in Istanbul to the status of museum, said the news agency, state-owned Anadolu. The Board of Turkish State considered this request on July 2, and his decision was expected within 15 days.
