The candidate of the opposition in the presidential election of Belarus has rejected on Monday the official results, calling on the president to relinquish power at the next election and the violent crackdown of anti-government protests.

Svetlana Tikhanovskaïa, which has emerged in a few weeks as a rival unexpectedly the head of the State Alexander Lukashenko orders Belarus for 26 years, has denounced a vote tampered with, after the announcement of the victory of the outgoing with 80% of the votes.
