Poland has begun voting Sunday in a presidential election on the razor’s edge, between a president and a populist outgoing and a liberal europhile who wants to re-establish ties with Brussels.
The result of this second round of the presidential election will be decisive for the future of the government of the conservative and nationalist Law and Justice (PiS), which critics accuse of curbing the democratic freedoms acquired three decades ago to the fall of communism.
