The lawyers of François Fillon asked Tuesday at the correctional court of Paris to reopen the proceedings in the trial of the ex-Prime minister, whose judgment is expected on Monday, after the recent declarations on the “pressure” during the investigation, they announced to the AFP.
“We have to seize this day, the 32nd chamber of the Tribunal correctionnel de Paris, a request for reopening of the proceedings in order that the recent events can be discussed between all parties,” announced the defence in a press release, after the former head of the parquet national financier Eliane Houlette has claimed to have carried out the investigation under the “pressure” of the prosecutor-general’s office.
