MADRID, 27 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
15.9% of the home sales executed in Spain were carried out by foreign buyers during the third quarter of 2022, according to published pisos.com according to the latest report from the College of Property Registrars.
After two years of uncertainty in the real estate market due to the health crisis, this is the highest figure in the last ten years and shows the recovery of the sector. The weight of foreign buyers in Spain also follows this growing trend, already exceeding the 14.6% registered in the previous quarter.
The director of Studies and spokesperson for pisos.com, Ferran Font, has pointed out that this foreign participation (which has already accumulated nine consecutive months of increases) is especially relevant at “moments like the present, where volatility and uncertainty are around the corner from the corner”.
The favorite regions for foreign buyers are the Balearic and Canary Islands, where homes that are not owned by Spaniards exceed 30% of the total. The Valencian Community (28.3%), the Region of Murcia (23.4%) and Andalusia (17.8%) are the following communities in which the foreign buyer has more weight.
Regarding the investor profile, the British population is the one that has bought the most housing in Spain during the third quarter of 2022, 9.3% of the total, followed by the German, French and Romanian population.
Font points to the “privileged climate of the Spanish coast” and the price level, “which continues to be well below other countries of the European Union”, as the main attractions for the foreign purchase and sale of housing in Spain.
