“We expected it to go faster than that,” says Julie St-Laurent, broker for the Engel real estate agency.

“Guy Lafleur is a Quebec giant. I find it unfortunate that no one has yet lit and feels invested with a duty of sustainability, ”she continues.

During the summer, Le Journal revealed that the house of the Blond Demon had been put up for sale for the sum of $2,499,000.

Although the plantation-style house on Place du Moulin in L’Île-Bizard, Montreal, has been the talk of the town, little interest has reportedly been shown so far.

“We had a couple from Switzerland who expressed an interest in buying it as a chalet. They finally turned to Tremblant,” explains Ms. St-Laurent.

Back to normal

For this reason, the broker plans to discuss with the family soon in order to establish a new strategy.

“We are returning to a slightly more normal market after two years of madness. Did we fall in there? We don’t have all the answers, concedes the experienced broker. But it is a spectacular, unique place. It takes someone who will fall in love with the house. »

For her part, the widow of Guy Lafleur, Lise, hoped that the sale would take place quickly, in order to be able to continue her mourning, she who currently feels isolated from her family, alone in this spacious residence.

The sale of this property is also a very special mandate for the real estate agent and her team.

“We do our job with compassion and respect for the bereavement of the Lafleur family. Grieving in public is not easy, ”assumes Julie St-Laurent.
