The Spanish technology and defense firm Indra obtained a net profit of 146 million euros in the first nine months of the year, which represents an increase of 26% compared to the 116 million euros recorded in the same period of the previous year. according to the accounts sent this Tuesday by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

The company’s income in the first nine months of the year stood at 3,016 million euros, which is 12% more than the 2,694 million euros in the first three quarters of the previous year.
By divisions, the turnover of Transport and Defense reached 1,011 million euros until September, 16.8% more compared to the 865 million euros obtained in the same period of 2022 thanks to the contribution of the FCAS and Eurofighter projects. among other elements.
Also contributing to the increase in this division’s revenue was the growth in activity in the Air Traffic segment, which had a solid performance in “all geographies, especially in Spain, Belgium, Panama, the United States, India and China,” Indra pointed out.
“On the contrary, Transport sales fell by 7%, due to the decrease registered in Spain (relevant contribution from the T-Mobilitat interurban project in the same period of 2022) and AMEA (which registered a significant contribution from the Transportation Systems project). Meanwhile, Minsait’s turnover stood at 2,005 million euros in the period, 9.6% more compared to the 1,829 million euros recorded at the end of the first three quarters of the previous year.
Regarding this subsidiary, Indra has highlighted the “double-digit growth” of Financial Services, mainly due to the inorganic contribution of the Chilean company Nexus, specialized in payment methods, as well as the “good performance of the business” in Mexico and Spain, while the Energy and Industry part had “increases in all regions.”
“Additionally, the performance of Public Administrations and Health stood out, with growth in all regions except AMEA (due to the impact of the Elections project in Angola that took place in the same period of the previous year). On the other hand, the net operating profit (Ebit) of the Spanish company until September was 228 million euros, 11.7% more than the 204 million euros obtained in the first nine months of 2022.
Meanwhile, gross operating profit (Ebitda) stood at 305 million euros, that is, 8.15% more than the 282 million euros obtained at the end of the third quarter of the previous year.
Thus, the Ebit margin until September was 7.6% – the same level in year-on-year terms – while the Ebitda margin was 10.1%, that is, 0.4 percentage points less.
On the other hand, Indra has highlighted that its business portfolio reached “again all-time highs” in September 2023 and stood at 6,974 million euros, a growth of 17% compared to the same period of the previous year.

For its part, Minsait’s portfolio stood at 2,189 million euros and increased by 18% compared to the first nine months of 2022.
